Have a heart for working with youth with autism? Project Rex is currently seeking a candidate to fill our volunteer staff position.

The Project Rex staff volunteer will primarily be responsible for coordinating and leading our Hangout group. Hangout is an informal gathering for past Project Rex group participants that affords them the opportunity to continue practicing their social skills. Each Hangout lasts around one hour and begins with introductions and discussion of participants’ special interests and is followed by a time for games like charades, Pictionary, Jeopardy, escape room, and Scattergories. Hangout occurs one or twice per week beginning in the spring and continues through the summer. Meetings will take place either in person or via Zoom video conferencing. Participants will be ages 8-16. Experience working with children and teens is required and experience working with special needs youth is preferred.
