Does your child have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD)?

A research study may be right for your child.

The 601/602 Pediatric Autism Study is looking at an investigational medication (“study drug”) for irritability in autistic children and teenagers. The study drug is intended to help restore the balance of chemicals in the brain that are important for regulating mood. It is hoped that this could reduce the severity of irritability and behaviors linked with it.

The study will look at 2 different doses of the study drug and compare them with a placebo. The placebo looks like the study drug but does not contain any active ingredients. Your child will be randomly assigned to receive the study drug or a placebo. Participants will take the study drug or the placebo in the form of capsules, once a day.

This study will last for just over 2 months and include up to 9 study center visits.

Are you interested in having your child take part?

We are looking for children and teenagers who are:
• 5–17 years of age* with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder
• experiencing irritability, such as tantrums, aggression, yelling, or self-harming behavior.

*We are currently only enrolling teenagers 13–17 years of age. Younger children will be enrolled later.

Your child’s health will be monitored carefully throughout the study. The study drug/placebo, health assessments, and medical tests will be provided at no cost.

Please contact us to find out more about the study. Study participation is voluntary. By contacting us, your child does not have to take part.
