Portrait Painting Event

Project Rex is teaming up with the Children’s Fine and Performing Arts Foundation (CFPAF) to offer a portrait painting class Tuesday October 9th for children ages 6-12. Participants will receive instruction from a trained artist and will be able to take home their completed portrait. The event will be open from 3:30-6:30 and you may arrive after 3:30. To sign up, please call Lavinia Bowens at (843) 792-4113. Space is limited to 4-5 children.

The Children’s Fine and Performing Arts Foundation is a nonprofit organization that increases the availability and quality of arts and music-based events, programs, productions, and digital media content for the next generation.

The foundation will create new ways to address the growing crisis of a media-influenced identity. We can positively impact the lives of children who are challenged by the need to traverse an ever-changing technological and societal landscape.

Regardless of a child’s background, circumstance, or ability, we can empower him/her to discover and express basic human dignity through tailored art projects and productions. Watch the video below to see and hear more about CFPAF.

Adult Group Delayed

Project Rex Adult Group, which provides social skills training for adults with ASD, was originally planned to begin October 4th but has been delayed for a number of weeks as we look for additional participants.

To participate in this group, please schedule an intake by calling (843) 792-9162 and requesting a Project Rex Assessment. Participants must meet with James Truelove, M.S.W., before participating in the group and a mandatory parent/coach group runs concurrently.

Once the intake is complete, call (843) 792-9162 to confirm attendance in the group series. Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for sign-in and registration.

Medicaid covers the program 100% and most private insurance is accepted. There is a discount for self-pay.

Interested patients and family must commit to being able to attend each group session. We can no longer allow patients and family members to join the group after the first week. We ask if you know you cannot commit to the full 8 week series to instead consider attending a future round of the program. Thanks for your continued support and cooperation as we work with all insurances to ensure that our programs remains available to all participants.

No Pre-Teen/Teen Group This Session

Unfortunately, space limitations will prevent us from offering our Pre-Teen/Teen group for Fall 2018. We will look to offer the group again during our Winter 2019 session.
