Be part of the nation’s largest study on brain development and child health!

The Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) Study is following 11,500 kids across the US for 10 years, and MUSC is participating with Dr. Kevin Gray and Dr. Lindsay Squeglia serving as MUSC Principal Investigators.

Who Can Participate?

  • Children ages 9-10 and their parent/guardian
  • Male or female
  • In good health

Note that this study is not designed for children with Autism.

What Will Study Participants Do?

The ABCD Study begins with 1-2 visits in the first year.

Parents

  • Answer questions on an iPad about you and your child(ren)

Children

  • Answer questions about yourself on an iPad
  • Play some games and puzzles on an iPad or computer
  • Get a brain scan
  • Get prizes

Similar visits will be repeated for 10 years. Guardians and children will be compensated for their time in cash.
