Good news – registration is now open for our next round of Rex Groups! This spring, we’re offering a School-Age Group for ages 5-10 with a Spanish Language Parent Group, as well as a Yoga Group for ages 6-12.

School-Age Group (ages 5-10):
April 5, 2016 – June 7, 2016, with no Group meeting on April 12, 2016
Tuesdays, 9:00 – 10:00am

This 9-week group is designed to enhance social skills of children with high-functioning ASD and ADHD. Diagnosis is not required for participation.

Note that while the Parent Group will be conducted with Spanish-language translation services, the School-Age Group will be conducted in English only.

Social skills are introduced through social stories and include greetings, conversation skills, types of social relationships, boundaries, managing frustration and anger, and more. Groups include sensory and gross motor activities to enhance play skills.

Note that a mandatory parent group meets at the same time as this group.

To schedule at intake, call (843) 792-9162 and request a Project Rex Assessment. Once the intake is complete, contact administrative assistant Lavinia Bowens at (843) 792-0037 to confirm attendance in the group series.

Medicaid covers the program 100% and most private insurance is accepted. There is a discount for self-pay.

Join us for a 6-week social skills yoga program designed for kids ages 6-12 with High-Functioning Autism and ADHD. This group will …

  • Enhance Social Skills and Social Reciprocity
  • Increase focus, concentration and self-control
  • Enhance Coping and Relaxation Skills
  • Improve Strength and Flexibility
  • Decrease Anxiety and Stress

… all while kids are exercising and having fun!

Theraplay and yoga based activities will be used in group to help kids become more aware of the connections between their bodies, their brains, their breath and their balance.

This program includes a congruent parent education /support group.
