DESCRIPTION:Lowcountry Autism Foundation presents\, “Parent’s Afternoon Out” a 2.5-hour respite offered monthly to parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.  Our new home for this program is We Rock the Spectrum Gym in Summerville.  Parents may enjoy a 2.5 hour break\, where they may go out on a much needed date or spend quality time with the other siblings. SUMMARY:Summerville: Lowcountry Autism Foundation Parent's Afternoon Out (Ages 3-12)
DESCRIPTION:Lowcountry Autism Foundation presents\, “Parent’s Afternoon Out” a 2.5-hour respite offered monthly to parents of children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder.  Our new home for this program is We Rock the Spectrum Gym in Summerville.  Parents may enjoy a 2.5 hour break\, where they may go out on a much needed date or spend quality time with the other siblings. This event is only open to children ages 3 to 12 who are diagnosed with ASD.  We do not accept neurotypical siblings.  Please be sure to pack a bag of any needed items such as diapers\, wipes\, change of clothes\, soothing toy\, etc… Please let us know of any allergies and/or special medical needs. DESCRIPTION:In partnership\, Samuel Lee Tooney Sr. Foundation & LAF are providing an 8 week\, 1 hour session to children with ASD and their families who are interested in equine therapy. With the funds requested\, we will be able to provide 26 children with equine therapy. \nEquine-Assisted Therapy (EAT)\, also referred to as horse therapy for autism\, is a therapeutic approach that involves interactions between individuals with autism and horses. This therapy is facilitated by trained professionals who use horses as a catalyst for promoting emotional\, physical\, and cognitive growth.
