SUMMARY:Fall 2025 School-Age Group Begins (Ages 6-9)
DESCRIPTION:The Fall 2025 School-Age group will meet Thursdays from 2:00PM – 3:00PM beginning October 2nd and continuing to November 20th. \nA Project Rex intake for children is required prior to group participation. To request an initial phone screening\, complete the intake request form here. Once the intake is complete\, call the West Ashley clinic at 843-792-0052 to confirm attendance. \nThis 8-week group is designed to enhance social skills of children with social skills deficits. A specific diagnosis is not required for participation. \nSocial skills are introduced through social stories and include greetings\, conversation skills\, types of social relationships\, boundaries\, managing frustration and anger\, and more. Groups include sensory and gross motor activities to enhance play skills. \nPlease plan to arrive 15 minutes early to each group meeting for sign in and registration. \nInterested patients and family must commit to being able to attend each group session. We can no longer allow patients and family members to join the group after the first week. We ask if you know you cannot commit to the full 8 week series to instead consider attending a future round of the program. Thanks for your continued support and cooperation as we work with all insurances to ensure that our programs remain available to all children.

DESCRIPTION:The next Teen Group will begin Tuesday January 13th and continue to March 3rd. The group will meet each Tuesday from 4:00PM – 5:00PM at the West Ashley Clinic on Tobias Gadson Blvd. \nA Project Rex intake for teens is required prior to group participation.  To request an initial phone screening\, complete the intake request form here. Once the intake is complete\, call the West Ashley clinic at 843-792-0052 to confirm attendance. \nThis group’s curriculum will focus on social conversations: introductions\, good listening\, finding common interests\, and two-way conversation. \nWondering about admissions criteria? For Teen Group … \n\nTeens and parents must be able to commit to the full 8-week program\nNote that this Group has more opportunities for movement based activities\, but teens must be verbal and able to sit and listen to a lesson for periods of approximately 15 minutes at a time\nA parent or parent representative must be present at either group\nTeens are encouraged to complete computer-based homework to practice the skills at home\n\nAlso note that with parent permission\, video modeling will be used in group as a learning tool; participant role plays will be videotaped\, shown to participants\, and shared with parents as well. \n  \nPlease plan to arrive 15 minutes early for sign in and registration. \nInterested patients and family must commit to being able to attend each group session.
