Good news: The Project Rex team and MUSC Pediatrics are collaborating on the largest-ever autism research study in the United States … and we’re hiring too!
The study is called SPARK, which stands for “Simons Foundation Powering Autism Research for Knowledge”.
The study launched in 2016, and its purpose is to identify genetic and non-genetic factors that contribute to autism spectrum disorder.
At least 50,000 individuals with autism will participate in this landmark research effort. You can read more about the study at the SPARK website.
And in even more good news, MUSC is hiring as part of a new SC SPARK research grant!
This job is focused on helping to recruit families for the national autism database. As such, our MUSC SPARK coordinator Dr. Laura Carpenter is looking to hire someone with strong ties to the local ASD community.
The new position is designed to be a full time job with some travel around the state as needed, but for the right person there could be some flexibility surrounding hours and/or travel.
